1955:
WELD-ON^® developed the first clear, reactive acrylic adhesive that met U.S. Department of Defense military specification (MIL-SPEC) for use on aircraft canopies. This reactive adhesive technology led to the development of other innovative adhesives which are the standard for bonding acrylic, polycarbonate, vinyl, ABS, PVC, PETG, butyrate, metal and other substrates used in many industries: POP display, aquarium fabrication, sign building, etc.

1958:
IPS Corporation invented the solvent welding technique and patented WELD-ON^® solvent cement for use on plastic pipe and fittings. This technique and product revolutionized plumbing in the United States by making plastic pipe installation easy, time-saving and convenient.

1969:
The first recessed supply valve / drain box for washing machines was designed and manufactured by WATER-TITE^®. This innovative product was well received by the plumbing industry. Our washing machine box is now a standard fixture in virtually every home built in America today.

1978:
WATER-TITE^® introduced the recessed supply valve box for ice makers, which won great acclaims from users across the country.

1978:
WELD-ON^® developed color-match acrylic adhesive for bonding solid surface countertops.

1987:
WATER-TITE^® introduced adjustable, multi-size residential roof vent flashings. The new design conveniently minimizes the roofer's inventory by eliminating the need for single sized roof flashings for each vent pipe diameter on the job.

1992:
WELD-ON^® formulated and introduced the first LOW VOC (volatile organic compound) emission solvent cement in response to growing air quality concerns. Our low VOC product line meets one of the most stringent air quality standards in the country and most preferred by professionals.

1995:
Labor-saving “Angle Stop Box" and "Dimple" were designed by WATER-TITE^® which virtually eliminate the "stubbing out" process.

1997:
WELD-ON^® 724 was introduced. It was the first high strength solvent cement for chemical resistant CPVC plastic joints in the market and formulated for use in a variety of harsh chemical applications such as hypochlorites, acids and caustics.

1999:
WELD-ON^® Structural Adhesive series was developed and launched. These advanced, patented, high-performance methacrylate adhesives are widely used in transportation, marine, and industrial applications.

1998–2004:
IPS Corporation was the first company to offer comprehensive plumbing product lines by acquiring industry leading brands and products such as TEST-TITE^® plugs, GUY GRAY™ metal supply valve boxes, TRUEBRO^® undersink pipe protection compliant with the American Disabilities Act, and cost-saving STUDOR^® air admittance valves.

2009:
Weld-On^® became the first company in the industry to offer environmentally-responsible, all Low VOC solvent cements, primers and cleaners, and completely phase out regular VOC products. All Weld-On products now meet the requirements for Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emission limits, established by the California South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) – one of the most stringent regulations in the U.S. Use of Weld-On Low VOC products can also qualify contractors for one credit toward the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification for green building.
